How Horses Learn……
Over winter I am offering short courses to enable the horse owner to find out more about their horses.
The 2 hr sessions will consist of a combination of theory and video, case histories, simulation and live demonstrations.
I will ask a student from each course to offer a horse who needs help with something like clipping so that the knowledge you gain from the classroom can be seen in action.
Week 1 - 13 Nov - The Evolution of the horse and its relevance to training.
Week 2 - 20 Nov - How Horses Learn
Week 3 - 27 Nov- Pressure/Release, feel & timing. How to develop these skills.
Week 4 - 4 Dec - Practical demonstration at a student's yard.
Week 5 - 11 Dec - Simulation - Understanding the horse's perspective
Week 6 - 18 Dec - Clever Hans - The Importance of body language
Week 7 - 8 Jan - Common behavioural problems and how to solve them
Week 8 - 15 Jan Practical demonstration
These weekly sessions will help you understand your horse and his behaviour which will give a deeper understanding, create more interest for both of you and keep your relationship safe and more rewarding.
Venue: Funtingdon, Nr. Chichester
Date & Time: Tuesday evenings 7.30 -9.30pm
Cost: £10 per session
There needs to be a minimum of ten people for the course to run, cheques
will be held until numbers are met.
